The second part of my Le Mans Reports - besides my Instagram and Photo Gallery that is ;) Weather conditions have been changing all the time, something I know only too good from Nürburgring. At least here in France it's only wet - and not freezing cold like the Eifel mountains.
When they talk rain, it's pretty serious.
The Audi Sport Camp getting ready for the Bavarian visitors.
Audi Sport is as serious with Camping like with everything else.
Not something VIP style, but they have German beer and it shall last until Sunday!
Easy to get from the camp to the pits: straight over the Bugatti Circuit, the short permanent one. That's a selfie via bluetooth remote! :)
The SRT guys with Dom Farnbacher on the left.
Just a small part of the big Eurosport team: Wolfgang Savelsbergh and Oliver Sittler.
They could have called that Toyota Hybrid Raining ;)
... again! :)
I tried to follow Pierre (Kaffer) in his slip-stream, not easy. That's the 458 paddock, he is Ferrari man after all.
Didn't take long for some Nfection spreading ...
I wondered what that steering wheel is doing in Pierre's camper: he put some tape around it for better grip. I quickly asked which car?
Our friend Atze, disguised.
Nicki Raeder and Porsche's Roland Kussmaul.
Olaf Manthey, Romain Dumas and Richard Lietz.
Aziz! Long time no see! He will be driving the Dunlop 458. Had some bad luck in qualifying, but after a fantastic logistic job and equally fantastic work by the JMW team they are back in the game!
Meeting with friends! If you are a regular with my blog you know Waleed and Jo from the Middle East - they are big Nordschleife fans!
Seen Porsche's message opposite the Audi garage? Nice one, but on the other side, they are already participating as works quad this year. Pretty seperate operations their LMP and GT efforts.
Finally some LMP nfection. Kruse Motorsport did that with pride too in the past.
Pierre Kaffer out of the pits. Mind you, this in an iPhone picture! #justsaying
Bill Auberlen driving #98 Aston - BMW works driver in his other life.
This is how the JMW 458 looked between the practice session. They got it ready in time!
I love this car! OAK Artcar.
It's reassembling welded sheet metal and I have to find the original!
Meanwhile at the Audi Camp ...
Wait a second, bicycle? In Le Mans? We had that! Turns out this is Bernhard, took him just 4 days coming from Heidelberg. Normally works at quatto GmbH together with Dieter Götz. He even carried his tent! And he already crossed Africa by bicycle. Legend!
Bernhard's tent, need to dry.
The bicycle is a one off designed after his specs.
The longest day distance was 215 km on his way to Le Mans.
Tom with Mike - *proud!*
That's Patrick and Daniel - both living in Cologne as me and they drive a street legal Radical. We always wanted to meet since nearly 2 years and finally managed that - in Le Mans! :)
This one for Kai: Kruse Motorsport!
From the Porsche garage, support for Romain Dumas.
This original gravel from Dunlop Curve is proudly brought to you by Richard Lietz!
You see plenty of these - electric - vehicles.
2 out of 56 Le Mans cars nfected! Never had that before!
Tim Hahne and Ralf Kelleners!
Looking a bit like Nordschleife's Brünnchen, but with lot less mud, despite the heavy rain.
Turns out I'm at Porsche curves! Originally I was heading to Indianapolis, well ...
The qualifying got stopped with red flag, so I headed to Arnage.
Dominik Farnbacher's Viper:
Big beamer at Audi Sport Camp - and great beer too!
Plus I met an Instagram follower! :)
Even more pictures are in my Le Mans gallery! To be continued - looking forward to the race! Follow me (renntv) on Instagram (or Twitter / Facebook) for faster updates if you like my coverage! :)
